The Giveaway on Goodreads started today. It will run until the last minute of October 1st. Still looking for a place that will host an author's event that won't break the bank. There is one place that is willing, but only for a hefty price. Discovered that Chapters has very high royalty demand to carry books on their shelves. It's almost as if they don't think authors should be paid for all the work we do. Speaking of work, I just finished the first layout revision for the sequel to Separated Soul. My eyes, back and neck are killing me. There were more than a few layout errors that had to be found and fixed. I spent four solid days stuck at my computer working at that. I suppose I could have let most of them go, only fixing the most glaring mistakes, such as compound words separated into two different paragraphs, but I think my readers deserve to have the book as perfect as I can arrange it. Long nights, early mornings, skipped meals, cold tea or coffee, these are all part of being a writer as are sore backs, stiff shoulders, knotted muscles, aching eyes, and cramped hands. I sometimes wonder why I do this, then I read the first draft of my latest completed novel and know that all the effort was worth it.
